Wynton Marsalis
Wynton Marsalis, born in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1961, is a trumpeter, composer, and bandleader who emerged in the early 1980s as the standard-bearer of the neo-traditionalist jazz movement and the only artist to win Grammy Awards in both jazz and classical categories in the same year. He serves as Artistic Director of Jazz at Lincoln Center and continues to lead his quintet and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra in 2026.
