Formed in Richmond, Virginia in 1984, GWAR are a theatrical shock-metal band famous for elaborate alien-monster costumes and blood-soaked live spectacles. Blending thrash and punk with satirical horror comedy, they built a cult following through the 1990s. They remain a beloved touring institution decades on.
