Machine Head formed in 1991 in Oakland, California, led by vocalist/guitarist Robb Flynn. Their 1994 debut Burn My Eyes became one of the best-selling debut metal albums, and the band became a defining force in groove metal and the mid-'90s Bay Area heavy scene, remaining active leaders of modern metal.
