Santana was formed in San Francisco, California in 1966 by Mexican-American guitarist Carlos Santana, pioneering a fusion of rock, blues, jazz, and Afro-Latin rhythms that broke through at Woodstock in 1969. The band is a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and multi-Grammy winner, best known for Carlos Santana's soaring, melodic guitar tone. The 1999 comeback album 'Supernatural' revived the band's global popularity.
