Stone Temple Pilots formed in San Diego, California in 1989 and became one of the defining alternative rock bands of the 1990s, selling tens of millions of records behind hits from albums like Core and Purple. After the death of original frontman Scott Weiland, the band continues in 2026 with vocalist Jeff Gutt fronting the founding core of the DeLeo brothers.
